Job description
Kelly is hiring!
We are looking for a Transportation Coordinator for our client, Canada’s leader in food and pharmacy in Balzac, AB. In this role you will be responsible for supporting drivers and ensuring the smooth execution of daily transportation operations. Acting as the primary liaison between drivers, dispatch, planning teams, customers, and internal stakeholders, this role ensures timely communication, compliance, appointment scheduling, and proactive issue resolution to support on-time service delivery.
Please note: this is a 6 month opportunity with extension available for the right candidate. The shift schedule for this role is 4x4.
Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate all information necessary for drivers to perform their duties and meet customer requirements.
  • Respond to driver satellite messages, emails, and phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Monitor driver trips and proactively track ETAs, PTAs, and load progress.
  • Ensure drivers receive and confirm load assignments prior to pickup times.
  • Coordinate with planning teams to ensure drivers are pre-planned appropriately.
  • Book pickup and delivery appointments and communicate schedule changes as required.
  • Review southbound meat loads to ensure required inspections are submitted and compliance standards are met.
  • Update tracking systems and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Escalate delays, breakdowns, compliance concerns, driver issues, and service disruptions to the appropriate teams.
  • Support drivers with day-to-day operational issues, including load inquiries, appointment changes, and breakdown assistance.
  • Communicate ETA updates to customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, customer service, or operations coordination.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation or dispatch systems is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
