Job description

Responsibilities

:

• Daily Accounts Payable (A/P) tasks – printing invoices, matching, vouchers, entering, scanning, filing.
• Review account statements, update reports and other records and review for accuracy
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as required.
• Month-end A/P tasks – support closing procedures as required
• Prepare monthly journal entries as required
• Preparation and review of monthly cheque runs
• Review and record Fixed Assets
• Maintain documentation for compliance to policies and procedures for internal audits
• Cross Training with other roles in the department for vacation coverage
• Other tasks as required

Skills:

• Efficient, organized and able to produce high quality work under pressure and in a timely fashion
• Able to process a large volume of paperwork
• Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of office/plant team members
• High attention to detail, accuracy
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education/Experience Desired:

• College diploma in accounting and/or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience preferable in the manufacturing field
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
• Knowledge of AS400 is an asset
