As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You are a strategic leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for operational excellence. At FortisBC, you’ll oversee LNG (liquefied natural gas) operations at our Tilbury LNG facility, guiding a skilled team and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production, storage, and transportation. Your role will involve cross-functional collaboration, emergency response leadership, and driving performance across critical energy infrastructure.

With your experience in gas plant operations, process safety, and project execution, you’ll play a key part in maintaining asset health, managing budgets, and supporting long-term planning. If you're looking for a challenge that blends leadership, technical depth, and meaningful responsibility, this is your opportunity.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Tilbury LNG Facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production, storage, and transportation of LNG.
  • Manage and mentor a skilled team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support operational goals, emergency response readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee capital projects and maintenance programs, ensuring timely execution and alignment with budget and strategic objectives.
  • Drive performance through effective planning, process optimization, and proactive asset management.

What it takes:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or certification as 4th class (or higher) Power Engineer, or other technical/trade education.
  • 8–12 years of recent, related experience in the LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LNG operations, including gas processing, refrigeration, cryogenics, and asset management is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and respond effectively to operational challenges and emergencies. Experience in unionized environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, safety management systems, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a collaborative and results-driven approach

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
