Serving key sectors such as industrial, commercial, automotive, and retail, we help our customers optimize their operations through technical expertise, reliable performance, and value-added services.

As we continue to grow our footprint in Western Canada, Catalys is looking for a Sales Representative who is results-driven, highly organized, and motivated by new business development. In this role, you will expand our customer base in British Columbia and support customers with tailored lubrication solutions that address their operational and technical needs.

Job Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for developing a new customer base within the assigned sales region and achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. This role focuses on securing new customers for lubricants and related products and services across British Columbia, while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and clients. The position may be home-based, aligned with the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, needs analysis, proposals, closing, and follow-up.

  • Build and maintain a consistent source of qualified leads within the region.

  • Maintain and grow a mixed client base across multiple market segments.

  • Demonstrate and communicate the value of Catalys products and services to customers.

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and suppliers.

  • Track activities, opportunities, and customer profiles in the CRM; ensure data is accurate and up to date.

  • Apply strong pipeline management practices to meet and exceed sales targets.

  • Collaborate with administrative and production teams to accurately identify customer needs and ensure fulfillment.

  • Support Accounts Receivable (AR) and collections as requested.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Technical Skills / Experience

  • Strong understanding of lubricant products, applications, and related services; able to explain technical advantages.

  • Industry experience in lubricants and/or chemicals; petroleum industry experience is a strong asset.

  • Proven success in B2B sales environments, including territory development and new market penetration.

  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools.

Core Competencies

  • Strong follow-through and ability to close leads and action items.

  • Excellent organization and time management (balancing prospecting with pipeline opportunities).

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize with a sense of urgency.

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with internal support teams and suppliers.

  • Customer-focused, empathetic, and solutions-driven; strong problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

· Education: University, college diploma, or professional training in a lubricants-related field (or equivalent experience).

· Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in sales and territory development (petroleum industry experience is a major asset).

· Industry experience (asset): Industry experience in lubricants, petrochemicals, or industrial products (including manufacturing, mining, forestry, fleet, or similar sectors) is an asset.

Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written).
