Job description5 years minimum full-cycle payroll experience. Experience in a Unionized environment – having dealt with collective bargaining agreements. Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification or in process of completion. Strong Excel with knowledge of VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. Strong knowledge with Collective Agreements, Employment Standards Act and Labour Relations Act. Mid-Senior level Full-time Accounting / Auditing, Human Resources, and Finance Staffing and Recruiting, Hospitals and Health Care, and Manufacturing

Base pay range
CA$70,000.00 / yr - CA$80,000.00 / yr
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Process payroll for a ~500 employees, in a multi-provincial, unionized, hourly and salaried environment.
- Ensure payroll compliance for the organization - i.e. EHT, WSIB, PIER.
- Handle all payroll accounting duties - balance sheet schedules and reconciliations, month end payroll journal entries.
- Work with accounting team with respect to payroll budgeting, financial statements, analysis of monthly statements and variances from budget.
- Participate in annual accounting / payroll audits, corporate peer review, external audit of facilities.
- Annual Payroll related audits; payroll, systems, processes, new hires, employee benefit deductions.
- Manage payroll yearend, including annual T4 process.
