Description:

The Principal Director of Sales, Wood Wyant, is responsible for driving growth and profitability by implementing the Division’s strategic and marketing plan for the Canadian market. This role goes beyond strategy: it requires a hands-on leader who will be actively involved in day-to-day operations, lead the sales team, engage directly with customers, and ensure every opportunity for growth is maximized.

The Principal Director of Sales will lead a mid-sized, dynamic sales team, ensuring they remain motivated, focused, and equipped with the tools required to succeed. Given the size of the team, this position calls for someone who is not only an experienced manager, but also ready to work closely with team members and build strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for the Division to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Procurement, R&D, and Production teams during new product launches, and develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Establish sales policies, objectives, and pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and growth.
  • Identify new market opportunities and actively support business development efforts.

Sales Management

  • Manage and directly support a team of sales professionals, ensuring they have clear targets and the resources required to succeed.
  • Coach and mentor the sales team, providing guidance on customer interactions, sales techniques, and market positioning.
  • Participate in customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to promote the company and drive sales.

Operational and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Customer Experience and Operations teams to ensure efficient order processing and high customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Production teams to align sales strategies with product offerings.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maintain Sani Marc’s competitiveness.
  • Standardize Wood Wyant sales operations across Canada, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

Performance Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Track sales performance, analyze key metrics, and adjust strategies as required to meet targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for the sales team and provide recommendations to support continuous improvement.
  • Challenge existing processes and propose new ideas to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Implement training and development initiatives to strengthen the team’s skills and deepen product knowledge.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven sales leadership experience, ideally in the JanSan industry or a related sector.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to support decision-making.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
  • Availability for regular travel across Canada to meet customers and support the sales team.
  • Effective time management
  • Strong decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate a team
  • Initiative and drive
  • Strong listening skills
  • Adaptability
