• Leads project financial management, including forecasting, cost control, change management, progress payments, and profitability.
• Identifies project risks and implements mitigation strategies to manage commercial, contractual, technical, and operational exposures.
• Builds and maintains strong client, consultant, subcontractor, and stakeholder relationships while actively managing expectations and project success criteria.
• Leads, coaches, mentors, and develops project teams, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting succession and workforce planning.
• Oversees project staffing, resource planning, and organizational effectiveness across all phases of construction.
• Manages contract administration, claims, disputes, and major project changes to protect project and organizational interests.
• Oversees commissioning, project closeout, warranty activities, and final turnover to ensure client satisfaction and project completion.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive construction experience, including leadership, mentoring, and exposure to multiple contract delivery methods; estimating experience is an asset.
• Expert knowledge of construction operations, building materials, specifications, methods, sequencing, and quality management practices for large, complex projects.
• Extensive knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, practices, and procedures, with a demonstrated commitment to building strong safety cultures.
• Advanced understanding and application of construction laws, building codes, collective agreements, jurisdictional assignments, insurance, bonding, and legal requirements.
• Strong strategic business acumen with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, staffing needs, and labor considerations on complex projects.
• Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate multiple scopes of work, and assess trade performance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in project controls, including budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost management, change management, and resource planning.
• Experience administering complex subcontracts, purchase orders, and document control processes while mitigating risk and maximizing project outcomes.
