Job description

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive, professional approach and attitude
  • Remain dependable for scheduled shifts
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly location at all times
  • Operate and maintaining all equipment and tools in a safe and reasonable manner
  • Adhere to all Westview Co-op policies and procedures and following all OH&S regulations
  • Deliver product in a timely manner, ensuring loads are correct and deliveries are on time
  • Receive merchandise as directed by the Lumber Manager
  • Provide information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements and expectations of the consumer
  • Ensure employees maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment where the employee’s well being is paramount
  • Supervise staff to ensure they adhere to staff appearance, housekeeping, loss prevention, and customer service standards
  • Communicate effectively with the Lumber Manager on any issues that may arise
  • Any other job-related duties that may arise

Who you are:

We are seeking a Yard Supervisor who is passionate about building a positive and collaborative team culture, with a strong focus on teamwork, customer service, and accountability. This individual will play a key role in fostering an environment where employees work together to achieve success and deliver exceptional service.

  • Organizational skills and great time management
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment
  • Class 3 license would be an asset
  • Class 5 Driver’s License is a must
  • Picker/forklift experience would be an asset
  • Experience in securing loads is a must have
  • Previous retail and lumber experience would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of hardware, the Home Centre, products, and building supplies is essential
  • Ability to handle multiple demands at once while providing excellent customer service
  • Commitment to Co-op’s values and principles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Previous supervisory experience is a must
  • Willing to participate in a Criminal Record Background Check

This is a Full-time position, the candidate will have the ability to work days, evenings and weekend for approximately 40 hours per week.
