Job descriptionInspects tops and slabs, interpreting technical drawings for required quality and specifications Loading and packaging countertops onto shipping frames, ensuring proper protection and accurate piece counts Receives inbound raw materials (slabs), ensuring accurate receiving transactions and inventory labelling Transports materials through busy shop and yard environment, ensuring proper inventory storage Utilizes computer systems to update order status and inventory transactions, locate job information and mark progress Coordinates shipments with carriers, planning shipment sizes and trucking requirements Inspects and maintains forklifts and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition, including daily pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance items Executes daily work instructions and follows schedule received from Supervisor in a timely manner Maintains a safe and organized work area, supporting housekeeping requirements Other duties as assigned $22-25 depending on experience Medical and Dental Benefits RRSP matching

Required immediately, our Local Abbotsford Branch is seeking a Full Time Material Handler for our Stone Plant.
FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 17 branches and 8 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. FLOFORM manufactures, sells and installs over 20,000 premium surface countertops a year. Established in 1961, FLOFORM is proud to be one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
Position Summary :
Material Handlers in our Stone Division are responsible for a variety of tasks related to hard surface manufacturing, including shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting and packaging stone tops and slabs. The position requires the safe and efficient use of mechanical lifts and forklifts, often moving materials through a busy yard and shop environment. Maintaining safe working areas and an organized yard is a critical requirement in this role.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong core, physically fit - able to lift heavy objects repeatedly
- Strong organizational skills, High attention to detail
- Good measuring and basic math skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Basic computer skills with capability of learning new software
- Understanding of warehouse processes
- Forklift operators certificate and / or able to obtain one
- Reliable, positive attitude - able to work in a team setting
