Job description

Application Engineer

Our client, an innovative manufacturer of complex sensors and microscopy imaging systems and devices, is currently searching for an Applications Engineer to join them on a permanent full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact with customers on all technical issues.
  • Provide product support to customers including recommendations and troubleshooting.
  • Work with Sales, Business Development and R&D Engineering to support product development process.
  • Provide technical knowledge and in-depth understanding of products as well as the customers requirements.
  • Provide inputs into the design and development of new products.
  • Occasional travel to customer facilities to install or repair, align and calibrate equipment/systems.
  • Conduct experiments to answer technical queries on the feasibility of potential projects and or systems.
  • Troubleshoot and solve field applications and or software issues related to products.
  • Build customer confidence and drive organic revenue growth across related accounts through deep customer engagement that identifies pain-points and growth opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing support in the QA/QC of products.
  • Verifying performance of all new products in relation to intended applications
  • Verifying performance of existing products on new applications
  • Specifying product verification procedures based on their understanding of the various applications of our products in-field
  • Identify new issues in quality that may require engineering support
  • Maintain awareness of product quality issues that may need to be addressed with customer
  • Contribute to the development of user guides and manuals.
  • Develop application-specific notes to impart key information/knowledge about products to its customers. This ensures optimal use and benefits while using the respective products.
  • Work closely with Sales team to provide tailored/custom solutions for various customer applications.
  • Provide in-depth post-sales product training to all customers (onsite or in-field).


Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an engineer in relevant areas (i.e. robotics, automation, machine vision, digital/video processing, optical microscopy).
  • Experience with C++, C# and C programming language is an asset
  • Programming experience in Autolt, Python and JSON would be an asset
  • Experience with Visual Studio will be an asset
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent customer relations management skills
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills
  • Independent self-starter
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Salary: $80,000 to $100,000
