• Practices safe and good housekeeping procedures.
• Completes in-process inspection sheets, fills out daily time sheets.
• Checks sign board/routing sheet to ensure that previous operation has been completed.
• Brings material from queue area to machine.
• Move WIP to next operation’s queue area and move job tag to next operation’s signboard to ensure that operation is completed.
• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding.
• Lays out positions, aligns and fits components together.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, and gas welding equipment.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
• Performs own quality check on welded product.
• Uses calipers to measure workpiece.
• Knows location and use of all tooling and measuring equipment used in the department.
• Understands operation and sequence of welds and can make standard set-ups by changing part position and conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Reading and writing skills in English are necessary to perform the job.
• Interacting with Machinists and Machine shop experience is helpful.
