Scarlet Security & Risk Group (SSRG) is seeking experienced Security Systems Technicians to join our team.
The Security Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of electronic security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion alarms, and related low-voltage infrastructure. This role ensures systems are installed correctly, operate reliably, and meet client and industry standards.
The position involves hands-on troubleshooting, system testing, and repairs, as well as supporting upgrades and new installations. The Security Technician works closely with both the Sales team and Delivery team to support project requirements, clarify scope, and help ensure smooth execution from design through completion. The role also includes collaborating with clients to identify issues, provide solutions, and maintain a high level of service and satisfaction.
The technician is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, following safety procedures, and contributing to the overall quality, consistency, and efficiency of project delivery. Equally, the position is responsible for delivering on quality of product and service, aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 31000 standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission security systems such as CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and perimeter detection in line with standards and client requirements.
- Perform regular service, inspections, and repairs to maintain system performance; diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
- Work directly with clients to assess needs, recommend solutions, and deliver strong customer service.
- Keep clear records of installations, maintenance, and service work; prepare reports and testing documentation as needed.
- Provide user training to ensure systems are used effectively.
- Stay current with new technologies, regulations, and best practices through ongoing learning.
- Follow all safety procedures and compliance requirements.
- Handle basic administrative tasks, including project updates and documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation when required.
- Support and mentor junior team members; assist with system optimization and troubleshooting.
- Lead site-level projects, including planning layouts and overseeing technicians.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in integrated security or low-voltage systems
- Strong system programming experience (required for senior-level candidates)
- Proven experience leading installation projects
- Ability to work night shifts (10%-25% of time)
- Valid TQ certification (or in progress)
- Solid troubleshooting and technical skills
- Familiar with industry tools and equipment
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Certifications with systems such as ICT, DSC, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, AMAG, Kantech, Gallagher and others
- Post-secondary education in electronics or a related field
- Safe and proper use of hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Capable of completing projects on schedule and within budget
Working Conditions
- Requires lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, and working at heights
- Work may be indoors or outdoors, including construction environments
- May involve confined spaces, travel, and moderate noise levels
- This role may require occasional travel
