Job description

MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics and aviation management services to a diverse range of clients in the resource and service sectors. We prioritize safety, professionalism, and transparency in our operations. We are currently seeking certified Boiler Technicians with remote camp experience to join our team.

As a Boiler Technician at MATRIX, you will be responsible for the winter maintenance, and repair of various boiler and heating systems. This will include maintenance and repair of frost fighters (different models) diesel toyo stoves, and a variety of furnace and boiler set-ups and configurations. Your expertise will ensure that our clients receive efficient and safe heating solutions in remote camp settings. This role requires a meticulous approach to work and the ability to troubleshoot any boiler, heating or furnace related issues.

This position involves fly-in, fly-out arrangements to various project sites in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair boilers and associated equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor boiler operations and make adjustments as necessary to optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and support staff as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and departments to facilitate project success.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Certification as a Boiler Technician, HVAC, plumbing or equivalent is desired.
  • Valid gas fitter "B" ticket is a very strong asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with boiler systems, frost fighters, Toyo stoves and a variety of propane fired furnaces and heaters is required. (oil fired boilers, oil fired incinerators, oil fired waster oil heaters)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in challenging environments.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks and work in remote settings.
  • First Aid and WHMIS certifications are preferred, WHMIS is required.

Fly-in / Fly-out

Steady 3 weeks in, 3 weeks out Rotation, until late April, 2026.

Salary Range

$600-$800/day - per 12 hour day, depending on skills, experience and valid tickets and certifications.
