Job description

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and controlling goods and managing non-conforming products. Occasionally, the employee will participate in the problem analysis and resolution process. Other responsibilities and activities may be assigned to this position.

Here are the main tasks:

  • Check the dimensions of received goods using standard and specialized measuring instruments according to drawings or internal instructions;
  • Inspect sub-assemblies and finished products;
  • Analyze the data obtained to determine conformity;
  • Document results and initiate corrective action requests as needed;
  • Transfer inspected parts and raw materials to the designated areas (using a forklift);
  • Support production with all quality-related questions and problems;
  • Participate in the problem analysis and resolution process;
  • Calibrate measuring instruments;
  • Inspect, Occasionally, parts from our local suppliers
  • Write work instructions

What we are looking for:

  • DEC in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Strong interest in inspection and continuous improvement, quality, and instrumentation;
  • Knowledge of technical drawings;
  • Knowledge of metrology;
  • Ability to read and interpret welding drawings and standardized symbols;
  • Knowledge of statistics (Asset);
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software (Asset);
  • Proficiency with computer tools (Microsoft Office Suite);
  • Ability to communicate easily in writing and Oral communication skills;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Experience using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs);
  • Skills: Rigorous; Meticulous; Resourceful; Autonomous; Versatile; Team player.
