Nexera Robotics Chief Technology Officer
BoydenBC, CA- Permanent
Nexera Robotics is at the forefront of solving one of the most complex challenges in automation – robotic grasping. Its NeuraGrasp technology, which combines AI-driven perception with adaptable hardware, is designed to address a critical gap in warehouse automation and e-commerce fulfillment. The ability to reliably grasp and manipulate diverse items remains a fundamental bottleneck for robotic systems, often referred to as the “holy grail” of robotics. Nexera is poised to lead this transformation, with early traction from major industry players and a growing reputation for innovation.
With $5 million in recent funding and a strategic investment from Knapp AG, Nexera is entering a pivotal stage of growth. The company has strong momentum, a full sales pipeline, and increasing commercial traction, but now must refine its product roadmap and scale its technology. Historically hardware-focused, Nexera is shifting towards a more software- and AI-driven approach, requiring deep technical leadership to integrate these disciplines effectively. The company is bringing in a CTO to drive this transition and ensure that its perception and grasping solutions are both technically superior and commercially scalable.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will play a defining role in shaping the company’s product and technology vision. They will lead the development of Nexera’s perception roadmap, oversee software, hardware, and AI teams, and establish a culture of high performance and delivery. They will be responsible for ensuring that engineering processes, team structure, and product execution align with Nexera’s broader strategy, enabling the company to move from prototype deployments to full-scale industry adoption. Additionally, they will play a key role in market positioning, ensuring that Nexera’s technology remains competitive and adaptable to the evolving needs of the robotics and logistics industries.
The ideal candidate is a technology leader with experience scaling multidisciplinary teams in robotics, automation, or AI-driven industrial solutions. They bring a strong software and AI background, ideally within robotics, and have successfully navigated the complexities of integrating software-driven perception systems with hardware. They have led high-growth technical teams, either as a Director in a large enterprise or as a VP / CTO in a startup or scale-up. Experience in guiding a company toward product-market fit and scaling technical organizations in a rapidly evolving industry will be critical.
Nexera operates in a fast-moving, high-growth environment where adaptability and leadership are key. The company values technical excellence, rapid iteration, and a strong culture of innovation. The CTO will join a team that is highly ambitious, deeply technical, and committed to solving one of the most challenging problems in robotics.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a breakthrough robotics company at a moment of significant growth. For a technology leader looking to shape the future of automation and build a category-defining company, Nexera Robotics offers a career-defining challenge.
