Job description

Are you an experienced material handling professional looking for an exciting new opportunity to grow your career? Randstad Operational is currently seeking dedicated, skilled, and flexible individuals to join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with a global leader in talent solutions and secure a rewarding position in the thriving manufacturing & logistics sector. In this role, you will play a critical part in optimizing warehouse operations for a premier hardware supplies organization, ensuring accurate movement of goods across multiple departments. If you hold an external forklift license and thrive in a fast-paced environment, read on to discover how this position can fit your professional goals.

As a central member of our logistics strategy, the Forklift Operator will be responsible for supporting key warehouse operations, including receiving incoming shipments, precise picking of hardware supplies, and preparing goods for shipping. Our client operates a state-of-the-art environment where safety, efficiency, and adaptability are highly valued. This position offers a compensation package starting at $21 per hour with an additional afternoon shift premium, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to maximize their earning potential while contributing to a vital industry.

In today’s connected marketplace, warehouse operations require cross-functional agility. The successful Forklift Operator will not only work out of the main Kitchener facility but will also remain flexible to support operations at the Waterloo facility when business demands require it. This multi-site adaptability ensures that our client's hardware supplies distribution network remains seamless. By joining our manufacturing & logistics talent network, you gain access to an organization that values your safety, provides exceptional shift options (straight day or afternoon) and respects your need for work-life balance.

Advantages
• Starting wage of $21 per hour, supplemented by an attractive shift premium for afternoon schedules to boost your total earnings.
• Excellent shift flexibility with structured day and afternoon shift options designed to help you balance your personal and professional obligations.
• Opportunities to gain valuable cross-training experience by working across multiple sites, including both the Kitchener and Waterloo operational facilities.
• Direct access to Randstad Operational’s comprehensive benefits programs, which may include health, dental, and competitive retirement savings options.
• A welcoming, safety-first team culture within a well-established, stable industry focused on essential hardware supplies distribution.

Responsibilities
• Operate deep reach trucks, counter-balance forklifts, and other specialized material handling equipment safely to transport hardware supplies throughout the facility.
• Execute daily warehouse operations across multiple key functional areas, including receiving docks, order picking zones, and final shipping lines.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight trailers efficiently, verifying physical inventory counts against documentation to prevent discrepancies.
• Utilize radiofrequency (RF) scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately track material locations and update inventory records in real-time.
• Perform routine pre-operational safety inspections on all assigned material handling equipment and document findings according to established compliance standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace by actively participating in 5S workplace organizational methodologies and facility safety protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional warehouse teams to prioritize urgent shipments and ensure client distribution targets are met daily.
• Adapt quickly to changing operational schedules, moving seamlessly between day and afternoon shifts as requested by leadership.

Qualifications
• Must possess a valid, current, and externally issued forklift operator certification from a recognized training provider.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of verifiable experience operating material handling equipment, specifically deep reach trucks and forklifts, within an industrial or logistics setting.
• Full flexibility to work both day and afternoon shifts, as well as the dependable transportation required to support operations at both the Kitchener and Waterloo facilities.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly and standing or driving for extended periods.
• Strong track record of reliability, punctuality, and commitment to maintaining strict workplace safety standards at all times.
