Overview:
Seeking an experienced Protection & Control Application Engineer to support testing, commissioning, and deployment of protection and control solutions for power systems. Role includes in‑house and on‑site customer support.
Location: Fully On‑Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: From $50.23/hour
Contract: 1‑Year Contract
Travel: Up to 25% (US & Canada)
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze protection & control designs, schematics, and logic diagrams
- Develop relay settings and customized test plans
- Perform secondary injection testing and simulate complex control schemes
- Configure relay communication, including IEC 61850
- Support commissioning and provide technical guidance to peers
Required Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in relay testing and setting file creation
- Strong knowledge of power system protection principles
- Experience with Omicron, Doble, or Megger test equipment
- Strong communication skills and customer‑focused approach
Preferred:
- Turn‑key Protection & Control project experience
- Knowledge of GE Digital Energy and third‑party relays
- P.Eng certification is an asset
