Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Planning & Reporting, the Research Analyst participates in major analytical and research projects and independently manages smaller-scale research projects. The role provides a variety of research­ related responsibilities, such as organizing and coordinating research interviews and focus groups.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, or in a relevant subject field.
  • Sound experience with relational databases, data analytics, and data visualization. Graphic design is an asset.
  • 1-3 years experience as a data analyst or similar role
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Some knowledge of the principles, practices and process of research methodology.
  • Some knowledge of social housing and social policy is an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Bl.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop research documents, including literature, and scoping reviews.
  • Ability to learn and apply departmental policies and the Commission's mandate.
  • Ability to extract, summarize and analyze data.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage research projects.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to identify key milestones or measures of success.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
