What you'll do:
The Mobile Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing warehouse mobile equipment to support safe, reliable, and continuous Distribution Centre operations. This role supports a diverse fleet of manual, automated, and driverless material‑handling equipment, including powered lift trucks and access equipment, while ensuring equipment availability, safety, and compliance with site procedures.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse mobile equipment, including counterbalance, reach, turret, and tugger trucks; scissor lifts and boom lifts; and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems associated with mobile equipment
- Diagnose equipment faults using schematics, service manuals, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer documentation
- Inspect equipment to identify defects, unsafe conditions, or abnormal wear and complete repairs to restore safe operation
- Electric motors and motor control systems
- Internal combustion engines used in industrial mobile equipment, where applicable
- Battery systems, charging equipment, and charging distribution infrastructure
- Hydraulic, steering, braking, and drivetrain systems
- Perform repairs efficiently with minimal supervision, taking ownership to see work through to completion
- Verify sensor configuration and perform approved upload or download of programs using OEM‑provided interfaces for sensors on lifting and mobile equipment, escalating issues to OEMs, integrators, or internal specialists as required
- Support automated and semi‑autonomous equipment within licensed trade scope, including mechanical, electrical, and peripheral components
- Work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams during diagnostics, repairs, or system updates
- Work in a safe and effective manner in accordance with corporate, site, and legislative safety policies and procedures
- Respond to mobile equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to support safe equipment availability
- Accurately document all work performed in the CMMS (MAXIMO), including labour, parts used, and failure details
- Provide clear shift handover communication to ensure continuity of maintenance activities
- Demonstrate flexibility when tasks are reassigned or priorities change to support operations
What you bring:
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification: Powered Lift Truck Technician (282E) or Automotive Service Technician (310S) with relevant industrial experience
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial mobile equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance
- Ability to work at heights up to approximately 45 feet using approved access equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, with occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting
- Frequent moderate to heavy lifting
- Ability to work our night shift -> 7pm-7am from Sunday-Tuesday, with every third Saturday 7pm-7am
Considered Assets:
- Experience working with automated or semi‑automated material‑handling equipment
- Background or experience in electrical systems or industrial electronics
- Experience working in a high‑volume warehouse or distribution environment
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (MAXIMO preferred)

Our typical hiring range is between $36 and $46.50. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements (including applicable certifications, licenses and/or accreditations for example Red Seal).
