Job descriptionUnderstanding of basic accounting principles; 1–2 years’ experience preferred. Proficiency with Xero, Dext, and Unleashed (or ability to learn quickly). Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Experience with AP / AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals. Familiarity with inventory management processes. Ability to handle month-end tasks accurately and on time. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. . We’re seeking an entry-level Accountant for a contract role in Calgary, Alberta. You’ll support day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and reporting in a fast-paced health and biotech environment.
Responsibilities :
- Process AP invoices and manage AR tasks, including cash applications.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and inventory (via Unleashed).
- Complete month-end duties : journal entries, accruals, payroll reconciliations.
- Maintain schedules for prepaids, amortizations, and fixed assets.
- Prepare cheque and other payment types.
- Work with department leads on cost coding and allocations.
- Assist with quarterly grant filings and reclassification entries, ensuring accurate cost-centre allocation.
