Job descriptionRelevant post‑secondary education. 2‑5 years of prior property claims handling experience with 2‑3 years of customer service experience. CIP designation or working toward a CIP designation. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills are essential. Career‑minded individuals who have demonstrated a career path.
Property Adjuster – CAA South Central Ontario
We are looking for a Claims Adjuster who focuses on member‑centric claim resolution and meets / exceeds key performance indicators.
What You Will Do
- Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate and settle property claims (low to moderate severity).
- Interpret policy conditions and confirm coverage for policy holders.
- Conduct investigations – take phone statements, coordinate services, consult contractors and vendors.
- Evaluate liability, salvage and subrogation exposure and potential.
- Contact and coordinate all parties involved in the claims process.
- Review and analyze initial losses to ensure file meets assignment criteria.
- Respond to client complaints and appeals.
- Determine proper kind of loss (KOL) reserves based on exposure and authority level.
- Examine claims files handled by Independent Adjusters when required.
- Prepare and maintain various reports on property claims.
- Provide general support for the claims area and special projects as required.
