This hybrid position requires 2–3 days per week from any one of our Atlantic offices: Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; Fredericton, NB; Stratford, PE; or St. John’s, NL.
As an SDET at CGI, you'll work as a trusted technical consultant within a distributed team, contributing to high-impact testing initiatives for a major Canadian financial institution. You'll help shape quality strategies, build automation frameworks, and ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable software.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Analyze requirements and perform quality risk assessments
. Support the creation of test strategies and test plans
. Develop and maintain test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices
. Identify and prepare test data
. Ensure adherence to quality processes and best practices
. Execute system and integration test scripts
. Detect, log, and retest defects
. Participate lessons-learned and knowledge-sharing sessions
. Communicate testing progress to leads and clients
. Produce internal and client-facing status reports
. Maintain strong knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices
. Mentor and coach other partners
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or equivalent experience
. 3+ years of hand-on software testing experience
. Experience working in Canadian banking or financial services
. Strong Java programming skills for automation and algorithmic problem-solving
. 3+ years with test management tools (e.g. JIRA)
. 3+ years with functional automation test tools (e.g. Selenium)
. Working experience with API automation test tools (e.g. REST-Assured, ParaSoft SOATest)
. Working knowledge of SDLC
. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Asset Qualifications:
. ISTQB Foundation or other testing certifications
. Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g. JAWS, etc.)
. Experience working with mobile test tools (e.g. Perfecto, Appium, etc.)

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $55,–$,. This role is an existing vacancy.
