Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our client's maintenance team in Prince Rupert, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. For this role you should be a 4th or 5th year mechanic with extensive experience in heavy vehicle mechanics, including loaders, forklifts, and excavators. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for working with complex systems.

  • Pay Rate: $95,000/yearly
  • Location: Prince Rupert, BC
  • Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
  • RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicles and machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in heavy equipment.
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability and safety.
  • Test the functionality of parts and systems to ensure they operate properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnostic tests, work orders, and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 4th or 5th year mechanic certification.
  • Proven experience with heavy vehicle mechanics, including loaders, forklifts, and excavators.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery and work in various positions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
