Job Title: NIGHTSHIFT Concrete Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Inspector to support quality assurance and compliance for a major infrastructure project. This role focuses on ensuring all concrete-related activities meet project specifications, CSA standards, and Inspection Testing Plans (ITPs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with major civil/concrete scopes and the ability to work collaboratively with field teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements.
- Conduct quality activities aligned with project scope and contract terms.
- Review project specifications and identify quality requirements.
- Perform visual examinations, witness tests, monitor, and document as per ITPs.
- Inspect rebar placement, formwork, and concrete pours for compliance with standards.
- Observe installed systems to identify hazards and determine adjustments.
- Act as a liaison with craft/staff personnel to provide technical assistance.
- Verify trade contractor compliance with quality programs and contract documents.
- Plan and coordinate daily QA/QC activities with construction operations.
- Support field management to protect finished work.
- Stay current with industry practices and seek innovative construction methods.
- Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years in QA/QC for reinforcement and concrete placement.
- Hands-on experience with rebar, formwork, and concrete pour inspections on major projects.
- Experience on projects valued between $500M–$2B.
- Familiarity with CSA A23.1 and ability to interpret ITPs.
- Strong safety awareness, planning, and communication skills.
- Civil Engineering degree or trades experience in civil/concrete discipline.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site at the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant in North Vancouver, BC. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with 10-hour nights, constituting a 50-hour work week. The project involves stringent environmental and structural standards, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
