About this role
This high-impact, strategic role requires collaboration with various engineering teams within Powersmiths and the broader Socomec Group while coordinating and monitoring highly technical and complex projects. The Senior Project Manager will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including strategic planning, mentorship, and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will excel in guiding other project managers effectively and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Oversee multiple complex projects and provide leadership to project managers to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop and execute strategic project plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term goals.
- Mentor and coach project managers, fostering professional growth and building a high-performing team.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate shared resources across concurrent projects to maximize efficiency and maintain timelines and budgets.
- Lead project risk management efforts by proactively identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Champion design reviews, technical reviews, and DFX (Design for Excellence) reviews to uphold quality and performance standards.
- Direct and coordinate UL / CSA / CE / FCC certification activities across projects.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to ensure effective communication and resolution of concerns.
- Implement and analyze project metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Promote the use of advanced project management tools and methodologies, including Microsoft Project Online and Power BI, EVM across the organization.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Project Online, including server setup, shared resource management, and timesheet tracking.
- Develop project lookaheads and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
- Build and manage Power BI dashboards and reports, utilizing Power Queries to generate actionable insights and customized visualizations.
- Provide examples of successful project delivery, meeting all customer requirements while staying under budget.
- Drive resource allocation strategies to ensure optimal deployment of personnel and tools, balancing competing project demands.
- Successfully managed the deployment of a multi-site energy storage system involving coordination across engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams.
- Resolve conflicts within project teams and between stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and meeting customer expectations.
- Provide thought leadership on process improvements and ensure the adoption of best practices across all project management functions.
