MatchBox is urgently seeking a Junior Business Analyst for a 12-month contract (high probability of renewal) opportunity for our New Westminster based public sector client. This is a hybrid position (2x per week in office and 3 days remote)where candidates must be located in the lower mainland.

Services
The Junior Business Analyst will provide business analysis support services at a level of detail appropriate to the needs of the project. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Define business problems, opportunities, risks, and primary project objectives.
- Attend and actively participate in workshops across one or more functional streams, including Supply Chain Management, Work Management, Asset Management, and Technical streams.
- Lead discussions with stakeholders from various business groups to identify and analyze requirements using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and site visits.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into requirements, use cases, process maps, test cases, technical specifications, and user stories as appropriate.
- Collaborate with system integrators, vendors, contractors, and business stakeholders to design and document future-state business processes, prioritize requirements, and resolve conflicts related to functionality, features, and specifications.
- Support business stakeholders in ensuring requirements are effectively captured and validated, while guiding decision-making and evaluating options.
- Maintain ongoing collaboration between business and technology teams.
- Document detailed business requirements and high-level system designs using established project methodologies, and coordinate walkthroughs and signoffs with stakeholders.
- Perform fit-gap analyses against industry-leading practices and system capabilities as required.
- Ensure consistency and traceability between requirements and user stories.
- Provide support to stakeholders in decision-making processes.
- Prepare and present decision-support documentation to stakeholders.
- Validate and assist with data migration and conversion activities to ensure solution requirements are met.
- Support technical teams with configuration requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support the development of test strategies and test plans.
- Assist with design questions, resolution of cross-functional dependencies, and collaboration with business solution architects.
- Evaluate potential solutions and associated technologies to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Support the development of business cases and benefit justification documentation.
- Assist with the development of standardized process architecture frameworks for ERP initiatives.
- Support Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities.
- Develop and deliver communications to managers, directors, and stakeholders across multiple groups.
- Coordinate communication between stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure feedback is incorporated into solution design.
- Facilitate efficient stakeholder interactions and decision-making processes while maximizing value from meetings and workshops.
- Maintain alignment with project scope and identify variances across streams.
Deliverables Standard Business Analysis deliverables and activities are expected and may be adjusted based on the scale and scope of the program. Deliverables include, but are not limited to:
- Process diagrams and flowcharts.
- Fit-gap analysis documentation.
- Business requirements documents and requirements traceability matrices.
- Reporting requirements and report mock-ups.
- Assumptions, constraints, impacts, and decision logs.
- Use cases and user stories.
- Reporting strategies and conceptual data analytics models.
- Decision analyses and supporting documentation.
- Process definition documents.
- Process impact assessment reports.
- Business decision documents.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- User documentation and job aids.
- Security and access-level guidelines and related artifacts.
- Project communications and presentations.
- Knowledge transfer materials and session support.
Knowledge & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Business or an equivalent field.
- 1–3 years of Business Analyst experience, including:
- Business process improvement
- Analysis and facilitation skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Ability to gather, analyze, and consolidate information from various sources such as documentation, interviews, and workshops
- Test planning and execution
- Experience developing business cases or benefit realization models is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Asset Management functions and industry practices.
- Experience implementing ERP Asset Management systems such as SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, or Infor EAM/CSF is desirable.
- Experience developing and delivering project communications to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to apply structured problem-solving and decision-making techniques while facilitating discussions with stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Familiarity with data maintenance practices, reporting tools, and analytics within enterprise environments.
- Ability to support end-to-end business solution design for complex transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with process design methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Visio.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Working knowledge of Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, or willingness to learn prior to the start of the role.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge and experience in Organizational Change Management (OCM).
- Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent.
- Previous development experience within a technical environment.
- Vendor management experience, including SaaS environments.
