SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the organization’s quality control program to ensure that all products and services consistently meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role involves managing inspection personnel, implementing quality management systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise in quality assurance, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and compliance.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership and Oversight:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the quality control team, ensuring inspection activities are conducted effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinate team schedules, workload assignments, and performance management processes.
Quality System Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems aligned with company policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of quality procedures, tools, and documentation.
Inspection and Testing Oversight:
  • Supervise inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to verify compliance with technical specifications.
  • Ensure calibration, maintenance, and correct use of testing tools and equipment.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze quality performance data, inspection results, and defect trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to the Director of QA/QC and senior leadership.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to drive operational improvements and resolve quality issues.
  • Support customer concerns and external audits with prompt and thorough follow-up.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain and enhance all quality-related documentation, including SOPs, inspection records, and corrective action logs.
  • Ensure adherence to internal procedures, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.

Requirements

PREFERRED/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory or management role within quality control or assurance.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control standards, practices, and quality management systems.
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in inspection tools and techniques.
  • Competence in Blue Beam, Microsoft Office 365, and Windows OS.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
