Job description

Position Description:

Are you motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of intelligent operations and help clients transform how they monitor, manage, and optimize complex technology environments? These are exciting times for CGI, and we are looking for an experienced AIOps Lead to provide architectural leadership and define the technology direction for our growing team.

In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with strategic vision, guiding the design and delivery of innovative AIOps, observability, automation, and service management solutions. You will work closely with clients, delivery teams, architects, and technology partners to solve complex operational challenges, establish technical standards, and influence the evolution of our capabilities.

We are looking for a leader with a pioneering mindset who can translate business and operational needs into scalable technology solutions, mentor technical teams, and drive innovation across multiple engagements. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping our AIOps strategy, expanding our capabilities, and delivering measurable value to clients in Canada and globally.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As the AIOps Lead, you will provide technical leadership across several strategic initiatives focused on AIOps, observability, automation, and service management. This role will require close collaboration with internal teams, clients, architects, delivery leaders, and technology partners to define solution direction, establish standards, and ensure successful implementation.

You will act as both a hands on architect and a trusted technical leader, helping teams solve complex operational challenges, modernize monitoring capabilities, and improve service reliability through automation and intelligent operations. You will also mentor team members, support solution delivery, and help shape the long term technology roadmap for the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:
. Leading the architecture, design, and implementation of AIOps and observability solutions
. Defining the technical strategy, standards, and roadmap for AIOps capabilities within the team
. Working with clients to understand business, operational, and technical requirements
. Translating client needs into scalable, secure, and supportable solution architectures
. Providing technical leadership throughout the full solution lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation and ongoing optimization
. Leading technical workshops, solution design sessions, and architecture reviews
. Evaluating AIOps, monitoring, observability, automation, and service management technologies
. Designing integrations across monitoring tools, cloud platforms, ITSM solutions, event management systems, and automation platforms
. Establishing best practices for event management, service modeling, correlation, anomaly detection, automation, and operational intelligence
. Guiding the implementation of dashboards, service health models, monitoring strategies, and automated remediation workflows
. Supporting pre sales activities, including solution development, estimates, proposals, presentations, and technical demonstrations
. Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing guidance on performance, scalability, resilience, and security
. Mentoring architects, developers, engineers, and operations specialists within the team
. Collaborating with delivery leaders to plan work, manage technical risks, and ensure solutions meet quality expectations
. Building strong relationships with clients and technology partners while acting as a trusted advisor
. Staying current with industry trends and identifying opportunities to introduce new technologies and innovative approaches
. Contributing to reusable solution patterns, accelerators, documentation, and team knowledge sharing activities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential Qualifications
. Significant experience designing, implementing, and leading enterprise AIOps, observability, monitoring, or intelligent automation solutions
. Proven experience acting as a solution architect, technical lead, or technology advisor within complex enterprise environments
. Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability concepts, including events, metrics, logs, traces, topology, service health, anomaly detection, and event correlation
. Hands on experience with one or more enterprise AIOps, observability, monitoring, or IT operations management platforms
. Experience integrating monitoring platforms with IT service management, cloud, automation, notification, and incident management solutions
. Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure, including cloud platforms, servers, networks, databases, containers, applications, and middleware
. Experience defining technical strategies, reference architectures, standards, implementation roadmaps, and reusable solution patterns
. Ability to translate business and operational requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and supportable technical solutions
. Experience leading technical workshops, architecture reviews, solution demonstrations, and client presentations
. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical and operational issues
. Experience working within Agile, DevOps, and structured delivery environments
. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor team members, and provide direction across multiple initiatives
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, senior leaders, clients, and technology partners
. Ability to manage competing priorities and provide technical leadership with limited supervision

Desired Qualifications
. Experience with BMC Helix AIOps, BMC Helix Operations Management, BMC Helix Discovery, BMC Helix ITSM, or BMC Helix Log Analytics
. Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, ServiceNow, Grafana, OpenSearch, Splunk, Elastic, Netreo, SCOM, AWS CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor
. Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, log analytics, synthetic monitoring, and application performance monitoring
. Experience with event enrichment, noise reduction, root cause analysis, service modeling, topology mapping, and automated remediation
. Experience with public cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform
. Knowledge of container and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
. Experience with scripting, APIs, integration technologies, and automation tools
. Understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts as they apply to IT operations
. Experience supporting pre sales activities, including solution development, effort estimation, proposals, presentations, and proof of concept initiatives
. Experience working with vendor partners and contributing to product roadmaps, advisory boards, or industry forums
. Bilingual communication skills in English and French are considered an asset
Professional Attributes

. Collaborative leader who can influence decisions across technical, operational, and business teams
. Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and taking ownership of complex technical challenges
. Strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and team development
. Willingness to participate in industry forums, technology communities, and partner engagements to share best practices and identify emerging trends
