Job description

Real estate development and management company seeking experienced part-time (3 days/wk) in-office Controller to perform all accounting and financial reporting functions. A strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this position will streamline the budgeting, financial and shareholder reporting processes. The Controller will also help to improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth.

Objectives:

Provide comprehensive financial updates to the principles by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.

Responsibilities:

Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, budgets and actual expenditures.
Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all legal entities, adhering to national and local legal standards.
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
Report financial results for various legal entities to our contracted partners on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Prepare year end working papers for the external auditors and resolve their queries in a timely manner.
Manage an Accounting Associate whose responsibilities include Accounts Payable, Accounts receivables, Billing and Bank Reconciliation.

Qualifications:

CPA/CA
10+ real estate professional accounting experience.
Strong understanding of financial data analysis and banking processes.
Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations & compliance reporting.

Compensation: Commensurate with Experience.
