Job description

Registered Architect
Relocation Opportunity to British Columbia's Interior Region
Commercial, Multifamily, Institutional & Community Projects
Architecture That Matters. Lifestyle You'll Love.
Salary: $85,000 to $110,000+ Depending on Experience

About the Firm

Our client is a well established architectural practice with multiple offices across British Columbia. Known for its collaborative culture and long standing client relationships, the firm delivers a diverse range of projects throughout the province, serving both public and private sector clients.

One of their growing Interior BC offices continues to experience a strong and consistent workload, supported by a healthy pipeline of projects and an established presence within the region. As the office expands, they are looking to add an experienced Registered Architect who is excited to take on greater project leadership while contributing to the continued growth of the team.

Why Consider Relocating from Halifax?

If you're currently living and working in Halifax, this is an opportunity to broaden your project experience while enjoying a lifestyle that combines career growth with year round access to the outdoors.

British Columbia's Interior continues to experience strong and consistent growth, creating exciting opportunities for architects looking to take on greater project leadership, expand their project experience, and build a long term career in one of Canada's strongest regional markets.

Many architects reach a point where they're looking for more than simply their next project. They want greater ownership, closer client relationships, increased responsibility, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the communities they help shape.

This opportunity offers exactly that.

You'll work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, civic, educational, community, and mixed use projects while leading projects from early planning through construction. You'll collaborate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence projects from concept through completion.

Relocating to British Columbia's Interior offers an exceptional quality of life. Enjoy shorter commutes, access to beautiful lakes and mountains, world class skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golf, wineries, and endless outdoor recreation. If you're looking to trade long winters and coastal humidity for over 2,000 hours of sunshine each year and a lifestyle centred around the outdoors, the Okanagan and Interior BC offer an incredible place to build both your career and your life.

This is more than a relocation. It is an opportunity to continue advancing your career while enjoying a lifestyle that offers greater balance without sacrificing professional growth.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Architect to lead projects through all phases of design and construction.

Working closely with senior leadership, consultants, and clients, you'll manage multiple projects while overseeing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration. This role offers an excellent balance of technical leadership, project management, and client facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all phases of design and construction

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables

• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout project delivery

• Prepare and review design packages, permit drawings, and construction documentation

• Provide technical leadership and quality control across multiple projects

• Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships

• Support Contract Administration, including RFIs, submittals, site reviews, and change documentation

• Mentor junior architectural and technical staff

• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and firm standards

Qualifications

• Registered Architect with the NSAA, AIBC, or another Canadian provincial association, with the ability and willingness to transfer registration to the AIBC

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering architectural projects through all phases

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit

• Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams

• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction practices

• Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment

• Open to relocating to British Columbia's Interior Region

What's On Offer

• Competitive salary based on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package

• Relocation opportunity to one of British Columbia's fastest growing architectural markets

• Diverse project portfolio across commercial, institutional, civic, educational, community, and mixed use sectors

• Opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction

• Supportive and collaborative team environment

• Long term career growth within an established and expanding architectural practice

• Exceptional work life balance with year round access to outdoor recreation and welcoming Interior BC communities

If you're a Registered Architect currently living in Halifax and looking for greater project ownership, meaningful career growth, and an exceptional lifestyle in British Columbia, I'd love to connect.
