Job description

Norpac is seeking a part time Chief Financial Officer to provide senior financial leadership in support of its ongoing operations and continued growth.

As the organization delivers projects that vary in scope, location, and delivery conditions, the CFO plays a critical role in ensuring that financial planning, reporting, and controls are aligned with operational realities. The role supports executive leadership by bringing clarity to financial performance, cash flow, and risk exposure across the business.

This position is well suited to a construction finance leader who understands project-based environments and is comfortable operating within an execution-focused organization. The CFO will contribute to strategic planning while maintaining strong financial discipline and oversight.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial stewardship of Norpac Construction and serves as a trusted partner to the organization. The role encompasses oversight of financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and risk management.

Working closely with operational leadership, the CFO ensures that financial information is timely, accurate, and relevant to decision-making. The role requires sound judgment, a practical approach to financial oversight, and an understanding of how financial decisions impact project delivery and organizational performance.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
  • An MBA or advanced business degree is considered an asset.
  • Executive leadership, governance, or risk management training is considered an asset.

Skills & Experience:

  • 10–15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including executive-level oversight of complex financial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or other project-based operating environments, with a strong understanding of job costing, margin management, and cash flow timing.
  • Proven ability to build, strengthen, and scale financial systems, processes, and controls within growing or owner-led organizations.
  • Strong executive experience overseeing P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control in operationally complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks applicable to construction and project-driven businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to align near-term financial execution with longer-term strategic objectives, translating business priorities into disciplined financial plans and structures.
  • Experience partnering closely with operations, estimating, and project delivery teams to support informed decision-making and financial risk management.
  • Known for sound judgment, clear decision-making, and steady leadership, particularly in environments characterized by complexity, uncertainty, or elevated risk.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams, fostering accountability, capability, and professional growth.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with ownership.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical leadership and continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive extended health benefits, including life insurance and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid parental leave.
