About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and growing organization seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and support strategic business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that values accuracy, accountability, and strong financial leadership while contributing to long-term growth and operational success.

  • Location: Agassiz, BC
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Salary: $110K to $125K annually
  • Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including intercompany transactions.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
  • Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Utilizing accounting systems and tools (e.g., Sage, Power BI, or similar) to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Corporate Controller, or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment..
