Job description
Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting, reporting, payroll, and internal control activities. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day finance functions, supporting operational decision‑making, and maintaining strong ERP and financial processes. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership, deep accounting expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, family‑owned business environment.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Oversee general ledger management, reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end close
  • Deliver accurate financial statements and internal reporting
  • Lead the finance and administrative team while supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Manage AP/AR, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance activities
  • Maintain ERP data accuracy and improve financial workflows
  • Support inventory accuracy, costing, and periodic physical counts
  • Strengthen internal controls and support audit readiness
  • Administer rebate and incentive programs
  • Provide cross‑functional support during peak operational periods
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA designation
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership
  • Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting abilities, and internal controls expertise
  • Manufacturing experience would be an asset
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experience (Dynamics NAV/Business Central/SAP an asset)
  • Experience with payroll, benefits, and HR‑related processes (preferred)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, mid‑sized, family‑run environment
