About the Role

Stay22 is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller to ensure the financial health of our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong leader with a deep understanding of accounting principles and a passion for the technology sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to the leadership team, supporting strategic decision‑making.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Manage the annual financial audit process.

Accounting Operations

  • Manage full‑cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including quarterly sales tax filings and corporate tax calculations.
  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, account reconciliations, and vendor payments.
  • Process payroll and required employee payroll documentation.

    • Internal Controls and Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices within the finance function.

    • Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation and Big Four firm experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a management role.
  • Strong understanding of ASPE and IFRS.
  • Experience in the technology or travel industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Netsuite or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual in English and French.

    Stay22 recherche un contrôleur financier expérimenté et dynamique pour assurer la solidité financière de notre entreprise en croissance rapide. Relevant du directeur financier, vous superviserez l’ensemble des activités comptables, des rapports financiers et des contrôles internes. Ce rôle opérationnel requiert un leader chevronné, doté d’une maîtrise approfondie des principes comptables et d’un intérêt marqué pour le secteur technologique.

    Principales responsabilités

  • Superviser les clôtures mensuelles et annuelles et garantir la production d’états financiers précis et dans les délais.
  • Analyser les résultats financiers et fournir des insights pertinents pour soutenir la prise de décision stratégique.
  • Préparer et présenter les rapports financiers mensuels et trimestriels.
  • Diriger le processus d’audit annuel.
  • Gérer l’ensemble du cycle comptable : comptes fournisseurs, comptes clients, grand livre général, paie.
  • Assurer la conformité avec les exigences fiscales, notamment les déclarations trimestrielles de taxes de vente et l’impôt sur les sociétés.
  • Superviser la trésorerie : flux de trésorerie, rapprochements bancaires, paiements fournisseurs.
  • Traiter la paie et les documents administratifs liés aux employés.
  • Mettre en place et maintenir un cadre robuste de contrôles internes.
  • Identifier les opportunités d’amélioration et introduire des pratiques d’excellence au sein de la fonction finance.
  • Encadrer et soutenir l’équipe comptable, en favorisant une culture de collaboration, de rigueur et de développement professionnel.

    • Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat en comptabilité ; le titre CPA et une expérience au sein d’un cabinet des Big Four sont fortement valorisés.
  • Plus de 5 ans d’expérience progressive en comptabilité, dont au moins 2 ans dans un rôle de gestion.
  • Excellente maîtrise des normes ASPE et IFRS.
  • Une expérience dans le secteur technologique ou du voyage constitue un atout.
  • Solides compétences en analyse, résolution de problèmes et communication.
  • Maîtrise des outils comptables (Xero, Netsuite ou autres ERP) ainsi que d’Excel.
  • Capacité à travailler à la fois de manière autonome et en collaboration.
  • Grand sens du détail et rigueur exceptionnelle.
  • Aisance dans un environnement dynamique et en croissance rapide.
  • Bilinguisme anglais / français requis.
