Mission

Terus Construction, a divison of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator based in Cranbrook, BC.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate steel-wheeled, rubber-tired, vibrator, segmented or other type of roller to compact earth, subgrade, sub-base and asphalt surfaces.
• Distribute, break down, compress and give a finished surface to cooling asphalt.
• Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade and asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
• Determine speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Push hand roller and pound surfaces, using hand tamp, or guide portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller.

Qualifications/ Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver’s License (Class 5)
• Experience in the industry an asset
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
• Ability to work overtime as required

Physical Requirements

• Required to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending and strenuous movements.
• Must be able to work outdoors in areas that are dusty or dirty.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $35-$38 CAD per hour . The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
