Day in the Life

This role involves safely operating a dump truck to ensure timely deliveries, assisting with loading and unloading, and maintaining high productivity on a daily basis. Responsibilities also include strict compliance with health and safety regulations, HOS logbooks, CVOR documentation, and daily vehicle inspections in line with Miller Standards and MTO requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Dump Truck in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure timely deliveries
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks
  • Exhibit a high level of productivity
  • Receive and relay information from/to the Supervisor/Foreperson daily
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and requirements to maintain Certificate of Recognition (COR)
  • Oversee and maintain the cleanliness and condition of vehicles daily (inspect tires, lights, brakes etc.) as per Miller Standards and MTO Regulations
  • HOS compliance mandatory (Logbooks)
  • Complete CVOR related paperwork

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License, Class A with Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Dump Truck driving experience, Standard Transmission
  • Clean CVOR and Driver’s Abstract
  • Computer knowledge considered an asset
  • Able to perform manual labour and lift 23kg/50lbs
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, days, nights, and weekends as assigned
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods during weekdays
  • Must have daily access to a vehicle to support the travel requirements of this position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player – able to build relationships and mutual respect/trust with fellow employees
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills

Compensation Data

Targeting $32-35 per hour
