Job Description

This role focuses on installing large steel-framed windows in a commercial building environment. You will handle glass and heavy materials, use hand and power tools, interpret construction information, and ensure precise, high-quality installations. The position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with glass, and the physical ability to lift and move materials safely.

Responsibilities

  • Install large steel-framed windows and glass systems in a commercial building setting with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Handle, position, and secure glass and window components safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to complete glazing and finishing tasks according to project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction details to ensure correct placement and alignment of windows and glass.
  • Use a level and other measuring tools to verify that all installations are plumb, level, and square.
  • Move, lift, and stage heavy materials and glass units, following safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Perform finish carpentry-related tasks associated with window and glazing installations as required.
  • Follow all site safety rules and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with other trades and team members on site to coordinate work and maintain project timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the project.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a glazier.
  • At least 1 year of experience installing windows or glass.
  • Proven ability to lift 50 lbs or more on a regular basis.
  • High level of comfort and proficiency using power tools.
  • Strong skills using hand tools for glazing and finish carpentry tasks.
  • Experience working with glass and glazing systems in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Solid understanding of general construction practices related to window and glass installation.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and alignment.
  • Commitment to working safely and following all safety procedures on site.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Division 8, 10, and 28 specifications.
  • Experience with low-voltage wiring related to window or glazing systems.
  • Experience installing integrated blinds or similar window accessories.
  • Background in finish carpentry or related construction trades.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a site-based construction team.

There is no dedicated parking available in the immediate area, so you should plan for alternative transportation or parking options. The site maintains a strong safety-focused atmosphere, and you must follow all safety rules and procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to site protocols.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
