Job description
What will you do?

Simply put, you will be responsible for maintenance and building operations. Below are some of the primary responsibilities that entails; we’ll discuss the others in person:

  • Carry out and/or supervise preventative maintenance and regular inspections on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and life safety systems;
  • Complete tenant service calls such as changing lights, heating/cooling calls etc. in a safe and professional manner;
  • Oversee the appearance and safety of the properties;
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions/recommendations;
  • Oversee contractors and ensure they abide by contract guidelines and project timelines;
  • Respond to emergency after hours calls as required;
  • Communicate with Property Management on building and tenant issues regularly;
  • Maintain maintenance and daily logs of equipment including meter readings; and
  • Maintain keys and locks register.

There are also some physical requirements associated with this job. Here are some of the fun things we’ll need you to confirm you can do:

  • Bending, twisting, crouching, climbing and reaching;
  • Move and lift equipment and supplies; and
  • A combination of walking, standing, sitting and driving. There won’t be too much sitting at all, so don’t worry about getting restless.

What type of experience do you have?

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. We can cover the rest when we meet:

  • You’ve gained your experience in an industrial/commercial/office/retail Real Estate environment;
  • You have a valid and clean Class G driver’s license;
  • You have completed your BES Operator Class I certification;
  • You are familiar with safety and fire codes and WHMIS procedures; and
  • Your computer and communications skills are above par.

This is a regular, full-time position with a base salary range of $68,000–$78,000. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid vacation and personal days, flexible benefits, mental health resources, access to perks and discounts, professional development support, and team-building and social events.

Compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, total years of experience, industry experience, education, and professional designations. We recognize that exceptional talent doesn’t always fit neatly into a bracket. Final compensation will be tailored to your specific experience, skills and the unique value you bring to the table. If your qualifications exceed the scope of this role, we may be open to adjusting the mandate – and the salary – to reflect that expertise.
