Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Custom Machine Builder for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON. This role is ideal for a skilled assembler with strong custom machine building experience, excellent blueprint reading ability, and a proven track record of producing high-quality mechanical assemblies within tight production timelines.
As a Custom Machine Builder , you will be responsible for assembling machinery, equipment, tooling, and mechanical sub-assemblies while working closely with supervisors, engineering, and shop team members. This is a strong opportunity to join a stable manufacturing environment where teamwork, precision, safety, and quality workmanship are valued. The role offers the chance to contribute directly to on-time customer delivery while working with experienced leadership and a collaborative production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble machinery, equipment, tooling, mechanical sub-assemblies, and main machine assemblies using blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
- Operate hand tools, portable power tools, measuring tools, forklifts, and cranes to complete assembly work safely and accurately.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly using sound problem-solving techniques and communicate concerns to supervisors or engineering.
- Inspect and test assemblies to ensure they meet drawing specifications, quality standards, and precise tolerance requirements.
- Provide feedback to engineering regarding drawing changes or assembly improvements identified during the build process.
- Maintain organized work areas, complete daily labor sheets accurately, meet production targets, and follow all health and safety procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $47,840 to $49,920 per year.
- Hourly rate: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour.
- Location: Scarborough, ON.
