About the Role:

We have a current opening and are actively reviewing resumes.

This position is a key strategic role providing comprehensive legal leadership across Canada and supporting critical Brand and Compliance initiatives throughout the North America (NAM) region, including the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring legal integrity while enabling business growth and safeguarding Ferrero’s interests.

Main Responsibilities:

Support all Canadian legal matters, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and food law.

• Advise on Brand & Compliance Across NAM

Support marketing, advertising, and regulatory compliance for brand initiatives throughout North America (U.S., Canada, Caribbean). Drive compliance governance and risk management programs regionally.

• Compliance Leadership

Design and deliver compliance training, monitor regulatory developments, and lead risk assessments on key topics (e.g., anti-bribery, antitrust, privacy). Conduct investigations and recommend remediation as needed.

• Governance & Policy Deployment

Implement Group and Area legal strategies, policies, and standards in Canada. Serve as Corporate Secretary and ensure strong governance practices.

• Enable Business & Manage Risk

Partner with leadership teams to align business objectives with legal and regulatory requirements. Develop best practices and compliance programs to protect Ferrero’s reputation and assets.

• Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Manage Canadian litigation and coordinate with external counsel. Provide proactive advice to prevent disputes and mitigate risks.

• Cross-Functional Partnership

Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, industrial, finance, P&O, and other teams to enable compliant business operations.

About You:

A strategic, business-oriented legal leader who combines deep legal expertise with strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels.

  • Five years of progressive experience as in-house counsel or in a leading law firm, with a focus on advising senior management and shaping legal strategy.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; admission to the bar in a Canadian province required; U.S. licensure preferred.
  • Background in Food Law, Intellectual Property, Advertising & Marketing Law, Data Protection (Canada), and Corporate Law.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, design compliance frameworks, and align legal solutions with business objectives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.
