Shift schedule: Afternoons, Sunday to Thursday, 3PM - 11PM
Job type: Permanent full-time

Are you a precision-focused individual with a passion for heavy metal fabrication? Do you have experience operating waterjet cutting machinery and looking for a role that offers excellent work-life balance with a Sunday to Thursday schedule? We are currently seeking a dedicated Waterjet Operator to join a distinguished leader in the stainless-steel distribution industry. Located in Woodbridge, Ontario, our client has built a reputation over decades for delivering uncompromising quality and personalized service across Canada.

In this pivotal Manufacturing & logistics role, you will be an essential part of a team that specializes in custom services such as laser and plasma cutting, shearing, and bar edging. This is not just a job; it is an opportunity to join a stable, safety-conscious environment where your skills in machine operation and material handling are valued. As a Waterjet Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating advanced cutting machinery to meet specific client specifications. You will work within a fast-paced, small business environment that prides itself on efficiency and "can-do" attitudes.

Working on the afternoon shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday) allows you to enjoy your Fridays and Saturdays off, providing a unique schedule that maximizes your weekend freedom. You will be working with an extensive inventory of long and flat stainless-steel products, ensuring that diverse client needs are met with precision. This position requires a blend of mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a keen eye for quality control. If you are ready to apply your technical skills in a dynamic Manufacturing & logistics setting, we want to hear from you.

Advantages
•Permanent full-time position providing long-term job stability.
•Competitive starting wage of $24.00 per hour plus a $1.00 afternoon shift premium.
•Consistent afternoon schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Fridays and Saturdays off).
•Comprehensive benefits package to support your health and well-being.
•Paid vacation time to ensure you have time to rest and recharge.
•Profit-sharing bonuses that reward your hard work and dedication to the company's success.
•Inclusive company culture featuring special events, BBQs, and team lunches.
•Opportunity to work with a supportive team in a top-tier Manufacturing & logistics facility.
•Access to specialized training and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities
•Set up, adjust, and operate Waterjet Cutting machines to ensure precise fabrication of stainless steel products.
•Read and interpret technical specifications or follow verbal instructions to execute cutting tasks accurately.
•Properly load material onto the cutting bed using appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
•Monitor the cutting operation continuously and remove cut pieces as required to maintain workflow efficiency.
•Assess cut pieces for quality assurance, checking for defects and preparing the product for final delivery.
•Check and complete all necessary paperwork to ensure inventory accuracy and order tracking.
•Properly package and secure all orders, which may include making skids, boxes, strapping, and wrapping items accordingly.
•Assist machine operators, material handlers, and other workers with various duties involving the physical handling of product, materials, and equipment.
•Possess a strong safety awareness by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
•Operate industrial material handling equipment such as tow motors (forklift), overhead cranes, and lift trucks (Raymond Reach, Combi).
•Fill in for other positions as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

Qualifications
•Valid forklift license or a minimum of 3 months of forklift experience, preferably with heavy materials.
•At least 12 months of proven waterjet cutting experience is mandatory.
•Experience operating overhead cranes is highly preferred.
•Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of essential machine maintenance protocols.
•Physical capability to perform frequent bending, pushing, and lifting of 50+ pounds.
•Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to work overtime as needed.
•Willingness to assist other plant personnel and work as a collaborative team player.
•Visual depth perception and physical stamina to handle the demands of the role.
