Job description

Brandt Corporate Services Ltd. has an open position for a Software Developer in our Regina, SK location. This position is responsible for developing web and desktop applications based on a defined set of business requirements. The developer has an understanding of all areas of development including presentation layer, data access, database development, version control, and application deployment. The developer will collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes designers, programmers, database experts, and project managers to deliver solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and test C# desktop and web applications (MVC, Web Forms, Web API)
  • Participate in technical solution discussions with the team and articulate innovative new ideas, approaches, and recommendations
  • Participate in meetings to demonstrate projects to managers and stakeholders
  • Identify technical risks throughout the software development lifecycle, raise concerns to the development team and suggest alternative solutions to meet project objectives
  • Generate software documentation and reports
  • Work effectively in an Agile software development (or adapted Agile) environment
  • Maintain code effectively in version control (TFS and Git), including branching and merging
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills
  • Knowledgeable of Team Foundation Server and/or Git
  • Established skills in designing tables, stored procedures, queries, etc, in MS SQL 2012 or similar SQL databases
  • Able to independently research solutions to problems and discuss with the team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills



Required Experience
  • University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or tech school Computer Systems/Software Development diploma, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional development experience delivering web-based solutions using C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, or similar technologies
  • Familiar with front-end design technologies including CSS, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap
  • Familiar with database access technologies such as Entity Framework
  • Familiar with RESTful API concepts and technologies such as AJAX
  • Knowledgeable of Team Foundation Server and/or Git
  • Established skills in designing tables, stored procedures, queries, etc, in MS SQL 2012 or similar SQL databases
  • Able to independently research solutions to problems and discuss with the team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
