Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Assembler will assemble to documentation set and to company quality standards within a specific time frame. Work is performed under direct supervision in a Production environment within our Bedford facility.
As an Assembler, your main responsibilities will include :
- Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget
- Assembling, modifying, reworking, and repairing electronic and electrical assemblies
- Work from documentation set including wiring and assembly drawings, work instructions, and engineering specs
- Repetitive electrical assembly and subassembly using hand tools, including powered, solder irons and wire crimpers
- Wire preparation, crimping and soldering lugs, basic wire connection
- Operates within standard operating procedures and to quality standards
- Performs other light assembly work as directed
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
- Properly use required PPE
- May participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, action teams etc
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Perform simple assemblies and hardware installation screws, washers, nuts and have basic understanding of build documentation
What you require to be successful in the role :
Possession of a High School Diploma and / or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
Minimum of 1+ years of related work experience within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of soldering an asset
Manual Dexterity
Ability to pay close attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions (mostly written, but some oral / visual instructions are provided)
Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
Must follow company safety policies
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must be able to meet quality standards
