Job description

The Village of Winston Park has an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Aide to join their LTC team.

• Status: Unscheduled Part Time
• Location: 695 Block Line Road

The hiring rate for this role is $22.99 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

To be successful as our new Recreation Team Member, you will:

  • Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life
  • Plan and implement programs

It would be an asset if our new Recreation Team Member has:

  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
  • An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
