Mom is a Registered Nurse. Dad is a Primary Care Paramedic. Because we both work in healthcare, we understand teamwork, communication, flexibility, and supporting the people who support our family. He loves sports, science, building, swimming, Minecraft, and being outdoors. Kate (4) has a rare genetic condition affecting her movement and communication. She is incredibly sweet, happy, resilient, and continues to amaze us with the progress she makes every year. She requires assistance with feeding, dressing, transfers, mobility, positioning, therapies, and personal care. No experience with her condition is required. We’ll provide comprehensive paid training until you’re completely confident. Character matters more than experience. ❤️ Responsibilities • Loving care for both children • Feeding and meal preparation • Personal care and dressing • Safe transfers and positioning • Completing Kate’s therapy routines • Reading, crafts, games, swimming, and outdoor adventures • School routines and transportation • Medical appointments • Light housekeeping related to the children only Kate starts school this September, and we already have homemaker services, so your primary focus will always be caring for the children. ⏰ Schedule Because we’re both healthcare professionals, our schedules include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility is appreciated. Occasional overnight shifts may be required. ✅ We’re Looking For Someone Who Is • Compassionate • Dependable • Patient • Organized • Honest • Eager to learn Experience supporting children with disabilities or medical complexity is an asset, but absolutely not required. 🏡 Live-In Opportunity A large private bedroom is available immediately. Beginning in October, our newly completed private one-bedroom suite (private entrance, kitchen, bathroom and living area) will be available for our live-in caregiver. 💰 Compensation & Benefits $27–32/hour depending on experience and qualifications. • Opportunities for wage increases • $175 flat rate for sleeping overnight • If Kate requires more than 4 hours of awake care overnight, awake hours are paid at your regular hourly wage • Paid one-on-one training • Ongoing mentorship from a Registered Nurse and Primary Care Paramedic • Use of family vehicle (by arrangement) • Reasonable relocation costs or airfare to British Columbia covered for the successful long-term candidate • $1,000 retention bonus after 6 months • $2,500 retention bonus after 12 months ❤️ Why This Position Is Different This isn’t simply childcare.
