Position Title: Intensive English Language Program (IELP) Instructor PART-TIME (Focus On)

Department: ESL SERVICES

Nominal Hours:

Salary: $$ (As outlined in the CUPE 4207, Unit 3 Collective Agreement)

Employment: PART-TIME (6 May to April 12 August , 2026)

Start Date: 6 may , 2026

Duties:

Instructors are responsible for:

• Teaching all courses as assigned in the scheduled period of instruction.
• Preparing course syllabus and lesson plans, ensuring alignment with course and program learning outcomes.
• Marking and evaluation of in-class work and record keeping.
• Attending pre-sessional instructor orientation sessions, as well as post session grade review meeting
• Communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues and staff.
• Attending departmental meetings.
• Participating in events such as closing ceremonies and orientation.
• Contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

In most circumstances the minimum qualifications for a new non-credit appointment shall be the Bachelor degree and TESL Certificate with a supervised practicum;

Master’s level qualifications in related areas – Applied Linguistics, English, Languages – shall also be taken into account;

Post-secondary teaching experience, especially in ESL/EFL, and particularly overseas, is very desirable.
