Foundations in Applied Disability Studies
Compensation
Effective September 1, 2026 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2026 - $15, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
1. Completed PhD in Disability Studies, Psychology or related field.
2. Demonstrated academic teaching and leadership experience in the field of disabilities.
3. Experience in Applied Research with persons with disabilities.
4. Proven online teaching experience required – synchronous and asynchronous.
5. Available to teach primarily ONLINE.
6. Instructors are required to provide office hours for student support.
7. Experience using Sakai/Brightspace or other online instructional platforms.
8. Experience using video conferencing platforms (, Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)
9. Able to attend department related meetings via video conference as required.
