THE POSITION
In support of a high-growth mandate, we're hiring for the position of Web Developer to join our dynamic Marketing team and help us make healthcare more accessible for Canadians.
As a Marketing Web Developer, you will play a key role in fulfilling our purpose by optimizing our website's performance to ensure an exceptional user experience and drive higher conversion rates as the company scales.
In this position, you will be responsible for :
- Overseeing the end-to-end development of Maple's multi-region, multi-language website, including planning, testing, and launching new pages.
- Creating custom elements within WordPress using efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Collaborating closely with UX teams, product engineering, and marketing to enhance site functionality, user experience, and conversion rates.
- Engaging with external development teams on both large and small projects, crafting impactful experiences on our marketing website.
- Partnering with the SEO Manager to implement improvements that boost website performance, optimizing speed, usability, and search engine rankings.
- Overseeing event tracking and integrations on the website, including but not limited to GTM, RudderStack, and Salesforce.
- Proactively troubleshooting and resolving issues across our web properties, ensuring seamless user experiences.
- Collaborating with the content team to deliver consistent and engaging content that resonates with our audience.
Critical to success in this role will be your knowledge of UX (User Experience) and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), enhancing our website's overall impact and effectiveness.
Your Web Development and SEO proficiency will serve as the foundation for creating and maintaining a high-performing website.
Additionally, your aptitude for analytics and data interpretation will drive informed decision-making while your content strategy expertise bolsters our online presence.
12 - 18 MONTH DELIVERABLES
To realize the company's growth mandate, within the first 90 days you will assess the performance of our marketing website, pinpointing areas for enhancement and executing necessary adjustments.
You will also align with our ongoing CRO experiments, adapting web pages as insights emerge, and collaborating with the SEO Manager to make regular enhancements to improve website performance.
In the next 12 to 18 months, you will work closely with our content team to identify areas for improvement which will involve crafting new and refining existing content hubs on the website, with a focus on enhancing user experience, SEO, and conversion rates.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining documentation and a website workflow practice. This practice will streamline the process of building and updating content across the website, ensuring consistency and accuracy in our online presence.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- The ideal candidate has at least 2+ years of experience with content management systems and WordPress managing a large property, including managing theme files, implementing plugins and other solutions, and building webpages from scratch as well as through templates.
- The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of standard web development, including the ability to craft clean, reusable code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for web experiences in a mobile-first environment.
- The candidate has experience with website analytics (GA4) as well as other web integration tools (including but not limited to GTM and Optimizely).
- With a solid understanding of technical SEO best practices, the candidate has experience collaborating with a content team to implement on-page SEO elements.
- The candidate has experience identifying and upholding Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- With a strong growth mindset focused on adapting to changes, learning from experiences, and seeking innovative ways to achieve growth, the candidate is comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment where agility is essential.
- Experience in the healthcare sector with an understanding of healthcare-related search trends and keywords is considered a plus.
