Reporting to the Project Manager the responsibilities of the Field / Project Coordinator include :
- Read technical and administrative project specifications;
- Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards;
- Inform Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with site management;
- Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent;
- Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
- Prepare daily reports as related to the crew, progress and issues;
- Provide document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, NCR, etc.;
- Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts;
- Organize and participate in various meetings;
- Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals and client;
- Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to project.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering program or similar, or a combination of technical training and / or related experience;
- 2-5 years of industry experience;
- Experience in contracting industry (heavy civil preferred);
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings;
- Experience with scheduling and planning site activities;
- Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.
- Cost analysis, control, and reporting;
- Contracts Commercial knowledge;
- Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
