CNC Machine Operator

What is this role responsible for?

• Be aware of the hazards when working around CNC machines and any other tools or equipment used in the area;
• Be aware of all safety control measures and guards used to eliminate those hazards, and have a responsibility to ensure that they are used at all times without exception;
• Be familiar with the start up and shut down procedures for the machine.
• Perform the daily, weekly, and periodical maintenance that is done to keep the machines in good working order;
• Having a general knowledge of veneer species, cuts, and different matching patterns are a requirement of workers in the CNC department.
• Having an awareness of the quality standards for the CNC area is a requirement;
• Know how to stack product being unloaded from the machines so debris or chips in between the layers won’t damage it.
• Product moving through the production process should be accompanied by a work order package to provide detailed instruction as to what has to be done to that product;
• Have a knowledge of using small tools,(files, pliers, utility knife, digital caliper, screw drivers, hex wrenches, chisels etc )

What is required for the role?

• Basic computer skills are a requirement.
• Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
• Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.

Asset :

• 1-2 years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop,
• Previous experience as a CNC machine operator.
