Our client is a pioneering FinTech firm specializing in cutting-edge banking solutions. They are on a mission to help businesses and ambitious entrepreneurs grow, globally! With a focus on various financial products and services, they are transforming business financial management globally.

They work with over 1000 businesses and have been featured in The Globe and Mail, Betakit, and BBN Bloomberg. They are one of Toronto's fastest growing start-ups and are looking for a Credit & Collections Specialist to join their team!

  • Manage the full spectrum of collections, with 80% of your focus on collections and 20% on credit
  • Handle collections for business clients, contacting past-due customers and negotiating payment arrangements
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email
  • Assist in creating and improving the collections strategy in collaboration with internal teams
  • Document call activity, customer account updates, and payment commitments
  • Provide insights on delinquent loans by preparing reports for the management team
  • Collaborate with the lender community by composing updates on delinquent payments
  • Identify and analyze trends contributing to customer delinquency and offer solutions to reduce future defaults
  • Manage security agreements, register liens, and handle credit monitoring with a high level of accuracy

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in collections
  • Strong customer communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations tactfully
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools like Salesforce
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with a problem-solving approach to collections
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong time management and the ability to prioritize tasks

Requirements

Previous experience in sales or a strong desire to enter the sales field, with phone or door-to-door sales experience being a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and effective messages. A tenacious attitude with the resilience to handle rejection and maintain a positive outlook when reaching potential clients.

Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of leads and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using or learning CRM systems and sales automation tools to maximize efficiency.

A desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Motivated by exceeding targets, with a proven track record of consistently over-achieving quota.

Ability to analyze data to track the effectiveness of outreach efforts and make necessary adjustments. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
